Lords Resistance Army indicted of murdering 100 in electrocute

The United Nations is questioning reports that Ugandan Lord"s Resistance Army rebels killed 100 people in February, the ultimate in a fibre of massacres in Congo"s remote northeast.

UN assist arch John Holmes spoke of the reported Kpanga electrocute whilst on vacation the region, where the Ugandan rebels have forced 300,000 people from their homes and, given Dec last year alone, killed 400 people and kidnapped 400 more.

The assault comes among fears that President Joseph Kabila"s enterprise to see U.N. peacekeepers begin withdrawing in June, in time for the 50th anniversary of Congo"s independence, and leave by elections subsequent year, will wear the security incident as the country"s armed forces will be incompetent to fill the gap.
